The one-year project entitled Web Cultural Heritage was finished in September 2006 and the final claim assessment based on the final report and finances was approved by the Commission's financial services.

Czech Presidency of the European Union
For six months, from January till June 2009, Czech Republic stood as presidential country of European Union. There happened many serious political and social events within this period, such as energy crisis (oil supplies cut off from Russia) or overthrow of Mirek Topolánek´s Administration. Thematic collection of related internet sources was run with monthly period from January till July 2009.

Presidential election 2008
The fourth presidential election in the Czech Republic‘s history took place on February 8th and 15th, 2008. The course of election was affected by disputes over public voting and was characterized by relatively equal standings of both candidates, Václav Klaus and Jan Švejnar. The thematic collection contains press-agency news, interviews, essays, opinions and commentaries from both camps of presidential candidates supporters.

New Building of the National technical library
In 2006 construction works have been started in order to build up new building of the National technical library located on Fleming square (Dejvice) next to the Czech Technical University and the Institute of Chemical Technology. Opening has been scheduled in the year 2009. Although czech media didn't pay so much attention towards this event in comparison with the project of the National library new building, WebArchiv captured all important information about this event in this thematic collection.

Olympic Prague
The City Council approved on its meeting on 22 March 2007 Prague's bid for the 2016 Olympic games. We captured this hot news in a thematic collection. The collection will continue into the future as the process progresses through its stages.

New Building of the National Library of the Czech Republic
In 2006 the National Library organized an international architectural competition for design of its new building. The competition results were announced on 2 March 2007 and the first phase of the project was thus successfully completed. WebArchiv captured media coverage of this event in another thematic collection.
The competition results created a great response. The winning project by Jan Kaplický has got many supporters and opponents alike. The collection continues – we added 1,200 new documets (10 MB) in May.

Election 2006
The June 2006 election to the House of Representatives of the Czech Parliament ended with an interesting result. The seats were distributed equally between the right and the left and it was clear that creating a new government was going to be complicated. We decided to include a thematic harvest of comments and materials relating to political situation after the election in WebArchiv.

Chronicle of Dalimil
In March 2005 the National Library of the Czech Republic acquired for its collection a newly-discovered translation of the oldest Czech-written chronicle – previously unknown fragment of the 14th century Dalimil Chronicle (Dalimilova kronika) in Latin. The library purchased this priceless document for EUR 339.000 at an auction at the Piasa auction house in Paris. This event received big media coverage and is reflected in this thematic collection.

Floods 2002
In August 2002 the Czech Republic was hit by large-scale floods. The disaster affected more than 400 towns and villages including the capital Prague; nearly one hundred of them were flooded completely. This thematic harvest of the Czech web covers news reports and information about events of this natural disaster and its impact.
